Legion members
are men and women, young and old who come from all walks of life. At
one time military service was required for Legion membership, but today
any Canadian citizen or Commonwealth subject may qualify under one of
the following categories: * Ordinary
membership includes serving and ex-serving members of Her Majesty's
Armed Forces, RCMP, Canada's war-time allies, and more... * Associate
members include relatives of those who are, or were, eligible for
ordinary membership, as well as some relatives of associate members.
This category is also open to cadets, officers of the Navy League of
Canada and police officers. * Affiliate membership is open to men and
women who do not otherwise qualify, but who support the Legion's aims
and share its values. Here's why you
should become a Legion member * To belong to a national organization that cares for Canada's veterans, promotes "remembrance" and speaks out for Canadian unity. * To support your community through Legion programs and activities. * To expand your skills and use your unique talents whether you participate in sports, public speaking, helping seniors, leadership, youth development, or social and other activities. * For comradeship and recreation. * To have access to a growing list of discounted products and services through the Legion's Member Benefits Package. * To receive Legion Magazine five times a year.
